Lisa Carreño

Lisa brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit leadership. At Pepperwood she will bring a focus on how our resilience work intersects with issues of equity and climate justice. For the last three decades, Lisa Carreño has been a community leader on both the east and west coasts. As an attorney, Lisa’s career has centered around social justice, family violence prevention, LGBTQI+ and immigrant rights, and access to higher education. After leading the YWCA Sonoma County and forging the Sonoma chapter of 10,000 Degrees, Lisa joined United Way of the Wine Country as its President and CEO in August 2018 to help lead the implementation of a new business model design, strategic planning, community building, and organizational change management.
United Way of the Wine Country serves Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Mendocino and Sonoma Counties as a coordinating and collaborating hub that connects communities and resources that foster a prosperous, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable region where everyone has an opportunity to thrive. Additionally, Lisa also serves on the boards of directors for Los Cien Sonoma County, Forget Me Not Farm Children’s Services, and Community Foundation Sonoma County and the Sonoma County Secure Families Collaborative.
