Family Fun al Fresco - Diversión Familiar al Aire Libre
In 2015, Pepperwood launched a new initiative designed to give families more access to Pepperwood. Join us for a variety of hikes, art classes, and other nature adventures designed specifically for families with children. A bilingual educator is present at most of our family events! Students Conducting Environmental Inquiry (SCENIQ)
Pepperwood’s SCENIQ is a year-long program that serves over 800 area elementary school students each year. Click here to learn about what you can expect for your child’s visit to Pepperwood, including a list of materials they should bring on field trips to Pepperwood.
Pepperwood’s TeenNat immerses teens in science and nature on our 3,200 acre preserve, where they meet scientists, participate in real biodiversity research and learn about careers in science. The five-week summer internship begins in July. Applications for the 28 available intern positions are accepted through April each year. Teens are selected based on their application materials. There is no cost for the internship. To learn more about TeenNat, view key dates, or download an application, please click here.
Budding Biologists Summer Camp
Each June we offer two week-long sessions of our science-based day camp. Your children will accompany Pepperwood's enthusiastic educators on daily expeditions to explore the many different habitats at Pepperwood and the plant and animal life that call them home. They'll learn science concepts first hand through experiential learning and deepen their connection with the natural world. Each day involves a hike, an experiment, nature journaling, and a fun game. Click here to view our event listings (note: camp is only offered in June).
