Nature Journal – Danielle Levi, 17

For my project, I created a nature journal in which I documented observations, collections, and findings from my time at Pepperwood. I chose to do this project because I wanted some sort of documentation of my time at the Preserve and the things I saw. I also wanted to strengthen my ability to observe my surroundings. Through this project I became much more conscious of the organisms around me and the way they interact with each other. I learned to take quiet moments and smell, look, and listen for everything the setting has to offer. I believe that I leave this experience with a stronger sense of mindfulness and a better eye for observation… along with some fascinating wildlife encounters!
