Meet at the Dwight Center

Join Pepperwood’s knowledgeable volunteers and staff for a hike through a mix of habitats from Douglas fir forest to rolling grasslands and visit a rocky hill top of serpentine soils, rich with wildflower diversity. You will become acquainted with what is blooming, and learn about fascinating botanical details. This wildflower adventure is more of a hike than a walk – we will travel approximately 1.5 – 2 miles and climb a few moderately steep hills, taking our time to stop and observe flowers as we find them. You are welcome to bring your lunch to enjoy after the hike, at our picnic tables at the Dwight Center.

Ease of Access/Hike Level: This event includes a hike of approximately 2 miles. This includes traveling over varied terrain with uneven surfaces, and a few moderately steep hills to climb. The route includes climbing a stile/ladder with 5 rungs to cross a fence. Bathrooms and water are available at the event meeting location.

Weather & Cancellations: Since flowers remain closed up on rainy days, rain will cancel. In the case of a rain cancellation, we will notify registered attendees via email, otherwise assume the event is on as planned. 

Though we love dogs, pets are not allowed on the reserve. When visiting Pepperwood, please leave pets at home for their wellbeing and that of our wildlife. Thank you.

Refund Policy: A full refund can be given for cancellation requests made 8 days or more before the start of this event. Refunds will not be given for cancellations within 7 days of this event. Exceptions can be made for illness/medical reasons – please do not attend the event if you are sick. A minimum number of participants is required to run each event. In the case of this event being canceled by Pepperwood due to extreme weather conditions or other circumstances, refunds will be offered.
