11:00am – 1:00pm
$20 per person, $15 for Friends of Pepperwood
Meet at the Dwight Center
Ages 13 and up welcome
Join Pepperwood’s knowledgeable volunteers and staff for a hike through a mix of habitats from douglas fir forest to rolling grasslands and visit a rocky hill top of serpentine soils, rich with wildflower diversity. You will become acquainted with what is blooming, and learn about fascinating botanical details. This wildflower adventure is more of a hike than a walk – we will travel approximately 1.5 – 2 miles and climb a few moderately steep hills, taking our time to stop and observe flowers as we find them.
You are welcome to bring your lunch and stay after the walk to enjoy a picnic with a view. You could also consider making a day out of it, by also signing up for our “Wildflower Walk – Meadow” in the afternoon (2-4pm) on this date to take a different walk after lunch. This would allow you to visit two different locations for wildflowers (if there is space available).
Since flowers remain closed up on rainy days, rain will cancel. All events will align with the current Sonoma County and state health orders and guidelines for group activities to keep everyone safe during COVID-19. In case of cancellation due to weather or health safety measures, refunds will be offered. This event will be limited to a small group of participants per current group gathering requirements. Masks and social distancing will be required. Our bathroom facilities are sanitized before and after visitor groups.Back To All Events
