Celebrating California’s iconic mountain lions and rich biodiversity, conservation scientist Dr. Tiffany Yap and artist Meital Smith share a story in their debut graphic novel about a young puma navigating a landscape altered by humans. Can the young puma overcome habitat loss, poison, dangerous roads, conflict with farm animals, and wildfire? Join us for a conversation with this duo and Dr. Tosha Comendant, now Stewardship Manager at Napa Land Trust, as we talk about using art and science to teach about puma ecology, coexistence with wildlife, and compassion for animals and people in conservation storytelling.
Books and art will be for sale. Dr. Yap will be available to meet and greet and sign books after the discussion.
Please RSVP at friends@pepperwoodpreserve.org.
