Public Hike

Saturday, December 11, 2021
9am – 1pm

Meet at the Dwight Center
Free, donations appreciated
Ages 10 and up welcome

Join us for fun, exercise, and learning! Explore Pepperwood’s forests and grasslands as you learn about animals, plants, natural history, and the ecological management of our 3,200 acre preserve. We will explore the late fall landscape, enjoying the cool weather and other unique seasonal phenomena. See how our landscapes were impacted by fire, and find out what Pepperwood is doing to aid in recovery and build resilience at our preserve and beyond. This is a moderate to strenuous hike of 3-4 miles. Participants are invited to bring a bag lunch to enjoy on the hike.

Please note: All events will follow current regional health safety guidelines. Please bring a mask – we will require masks to be worn indoors during this event (this includes in the bathrooms), regardless of vaccination status. Masks are not required while outdoors. Please practice good hand washing hygiene, and physical distancing when possible. If you do not feel well, please do not attend.
