Meet at Dwight Center
Ages 12 and up welcome
Sonoma County’s bounty of summer fruit is evident even here at Pepperwood. The fig trees found on old homestead sites still bear fruit, and their offering is our delight! Join us to learn to make your own delicious fig preserves – a taste of Pepperwood for you to enjoy long after summer’s warm days wane. We will practice the sustainable art of canning, from pulp to finish, with our harvest of Mission Figs. No experience necessary – come to learn, or share your expertise. Leave with a jar of your very own “Pepperwood Preserves!” –– All supplies will be provided. Please bring lunch to enjoy during a break the workshop.
This workshop will be hosted and facilitated by long-time Friend of Pepperwood, Judith Fenley, and Pepperwood’s Education Program Coordinator, Holland Gistelli. They look forward to sharing the fruits of Pepperwood and the art of canning with you.
