Meet at the Bechtel House
*This event is FREE if cost is a barrier for you.
We invite your family to join our environmental educators for a weekend of outdoor adventure. We will wander the rolling grassy hills and shady woodlands of Pepperwood, discovering what lives in the meadow and along the forest edge. Perhaps we’ll even find clues left behind by animals! We’ll play games and make new friends. As evening comes we will cook and enjoy a potluck dinner together, watching the sunset.
After dark we will gaze at the night sky, and listen for nocturnal animals. Throughout our time together, we will gain a deeper connection to nature through joyful exploration. You are welcome to bring your own favorite stories, games, or instruments to share.
Camping gear will be provided (tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads), or you can bring your own.
Dinner and breakfast will be potluck, please bring something to share. You are invited to also bring your own snacks and beverages.
At the Bechtel House where we will be based, there is a full kitchen and bathrooms available.
Ease of access/hike level: This event will include an optional easy to moderate walk of less than 1.5 miles at a slow pace. The facility where this event takes place requires navigating a few stair steps to access the deck, interior of the building, and bathrooms.
