Meet at the Dwight Center
Have you ever wanted to make your own lip balm or herbal salve? Come learn how to make these and the herbal infused oils that form the basis for everything from bath oil, hand cream and muscle balm. We will use plants that are easy to grow in your garden or have naturalized in Sonoma County including Calendula, Plantain, St John’s Wort, Douglas fir, and more. You will go home with the confidence, recipes and samples of the salve and cream we will make during our time together. To finish up class, we will take a stroll outside the Dwight Center to see first hand some of the local plants that can be used in these recipes. Autumn will teach you how to properly harvest and use a range of herbs to make your own homemade holiday gifts for friends and family.
From her first herb class over 25 years ago, Autumn has been exploring the many facets of herbalism. An avid gardener and wild foods forager, she teaches on how to grow your own herbs and how to safely and sustainably gather and use abundant edible and medicinal plants, seaweeds and mushrooms in Northern California at the California School of Herbal Studies. She is passionate about sharing this empowering knowledge with others in a responsible and interactive way.
