Get a new perspective of Pepperwood – after dark! We’ll  embark on an adventurous hike to explore the local “nightlife”, experiencing the sunset and the moonrise along our journey. We’ll look and listen for signs of our nocturnal neighbors such as bats, coyotes, and owls. Our hike will take us along a ridge with expansive views of the night sky, where we can appreciate the beauty of nature under the light of the glorious full moon. We encourage minimal use of flashlights during this adventure, to protect our “night vision” and create a more immersive experience. The dark is much less spooky when you are among good company!

Ease of Access/Hike level: This event includes a hike of up to 3.5 miles of moderate to challenging hiking level, in dark lighting conditions. This includes traveling on an established trail over varied terrain with some steep inclines and uneven surfaces. Bathrooms and water are available at the event meeting location.

Weather & Cancellations: This event will be canceled in the case of rain, and could also be canceled due to unhealthy air quality or other unforeseen circumstances. In the case of cancellation, registrants will be notified via email.

Though we love dogs, pets are not allowed on the reserve. When visiting Pepperwood, please leave pets at home for their wellbeing and that of our wildlife. Thank you.

Please, no smoking at Pepperwood.
