Get a new perspective of Pepperwood – after dark! We’ll gather just as the sun sets and the moon rises to embark on an adventurous hike to explore the local “nightlife”. Along our hike we’ll look and listen for signs of our often-nocturnal neighbors such as bats, foxes, coyotes, and owls. Our hike will take us to a ridge with expansive views of the night sky, where we can appreciate the beauty of nature under the light of the glorious full moon. We encourage minimal use of flashlights during this adventure, to protect our “night vision” and create a more immersive experience. The dark is much less spooky when you are among good company! 

Ease of Access/Hike level: This event includes a hike of up to 3 miles of moderate hiking level, in dark lighting conditions. This includes traveling over varied terrain with some steep inclines, including uneven surfaces. Bathrooms and water are available at the event meeting location.

Weather & Cancellations: This event will go on in light rain. However, it could be canceled in the case of heavy storms, unhealthy air quality or other unforeseen circumstances. In the case of cancellation, registrants will be notified via email.

Though we love dogs, pets are not allowed on the reserve. When visiting Pepperwood, please leave pets at home for their wellbeing and that of our wildlife. Thank you.

Please, no smoking at Pepperwood.

COVID Protocols: All events will follow current regional health safety guidelines. Please practice good health hygiene, and physical distancing when possible. If you do not feel well, please do not attend.
