4:45pm – 7:45pm
Free for donors in the Friends giving circle ($50) and above
Meet at the Dwight Center
This is an exclusive event for donors in our Friends of Pepperwood giving circle (and above).
Get a new perspective of Pepperwood – after dark! We’ll embark on an adventurous hike to explore the local “nightlife”, experiencing the sunset and the moonrise along our journey. We’ll look and listen for signs of our nocturnal neighbors such as bats, coyotes, and owls. Our hike will take us along a ridge with expansive views of the night sky, where we can appreciate the beauty of nighttime nature under a nearly-full moon. We may encourage use of flashlights during certain times of this adventure, and “lights off” for portions of the event, to adjust our “night vision” and create a more immersive experience. The dark is much less spooky when you are among good company!
Wine and refreshments will be provided, and you are invited to pack a picnic dinner to enjoy under the beautiful night sky.
Ease of Access/Hike level: This event includes a hike of up to 3.5 miles of moderate hiking level, in dark lighting conditions. This includes traveling on a dirt trail over varied terrain with steep inclines and uneven surfaces. Bathrooms and water are available at the event meeting location.
Weather & Cancellations: This event will be canceled in the case of rain, and could also be canceled due to unhealthy air quality or other unforeseen circumstances. In the case of cancellation, RSVPs will be notified via email.
When visiting Pepperwood, please leave pets at home for their wellbeing and that of our wildlife. Thank you.
Please, no smoking at Pepperwood.
