What really is fog and why are researchers interested in it? Join Alicia Torregrosa, physical scientist with the United States Geological Survey, for this enlightening presentation about the mysteries of fog. Alicia leads interdisciplinary science teams focused on fog and is a skilled geospatial analyst of “remotely” sensed data-meaning data collected from airplanes and satellites! We will learn the difference between a low cloud and fog, why some summers are foggier than others, and what causes “fog drip”.  Learn about what tools researchers use to study fog and experience a make-your-own-fog demonstration.  We will investigates the potential consequences of climate change on fog and related ecosystem responses.
