Join Kate Marianchild, author of Secrets of the Oak Woodlands: Plant and Animals among California’s Oaks, as she takes us on an exuberant romp through the oak woodlands, California’s most diverse and widespread ecosystem. We will crawl into wood rat houses, explore ponds and their secretive newts, and gaze at the sky through the third eye of a western fence lizard. In this illustrated lecture, Kate will share fascinating facts and stories from her recently published book. Books and close-focusing binoculars will be available for purchase (cash or check) and Kate will sign books following the lecture.
