Wildflowers and Wildlife of Pepperwood One Year After the Tubbs Fire

As our community continues to recover in the aftermath of the October 2017 fires, we can find comfort in the healing power of nature. Join Pepperwood’s Preserve Ecologist Michelle Halbur to explore the incredible rebound of plant and animal life at our 3,200 acre preserve. Learn how Northern California’s landscapes have adapted to bounce back from fire—an integral part of Mediterranean ecosystems like ours, for better or worse. See examples of the wild’s resiliency and find out how fire can even benefit our ecosystems. Michelle will also share how Pepperwood’s post-fire research is informing local resource conservation and helping to make our communities more resilient in the face of a more fire-prone future.
