Ages 13 and up welcome
You don’t need to be an artist to enjoy making cyanotypes! In this introductory class you’ll learn the basics of this amazing alternative photographic technique from Jessica Layton, photographer and current artist in residence at Pepperwood. Cyanotypes are distinct for their Prussian blue monochrome color. Creating these prints is a simple process that involves contact printing with hand-painted light-sensitive emulsion. Join us to celebrate the natural world by making botanical blueprints together! At the end of the workshop you’ll leave with gorgeous prints and the know-how to create more at home. This is a cameraless workshop and no previous photographic experience is necessary. Jessica Layton is a photographer based in Petaluma, California. Her work has been exhibited locally and internationally.
