TeenNat 2023 (Session One) Kicks Off; Meet Our Summer Ed. Assistants

This summer, we’re hosting TWO four-week TeenNat sessions, doubling our usual program. In all, we’ll have 50 TeenNatters this year, which is more than we’ve ever had! To help make each session an amazing experience, we’re fortunate to have the support of our Summer Education Assistants. The first session will be assisted by Chloe Howard (left), and Caty Dundas (right).

Chloe Howard participated in the 2016 TeenNat program. She has a B.A. in Biology from Sonoma State University. She worked at Cal Academy coding weevil phylogenetics as part of her Summer Systematics Institute, a paid internship at the California Academy of Sciences. An entomologist in the making, Chloe helped with insect collections at both SSU and CalAcademy. Growing up, she taught line dance to tweens and teens, and her hobbies include roller hockey, playing mandolin and trumpet, country music, and anime! She has a dog best friend named Nutmeg.

Caty Dundas participated in the 2022 TeenNat program. Caty just graduated from Casa Grande High School, where she was the yearbook Editor in Chief, co-president of the Black Student Union, and played on the varsity girls golf team, she also made the National Society of High School Scholars. She plans to attend Colorado State University in the fall. Caty was nominated for the 2023 Press Democrat “Celebrate Community Youth Service Awards” for the STEM/Environmental Science category. She enjoys hiking, swimming at the Russian River, thrifting with friends, being outside, and chilling with her dog best friend Murphy.
