Fire watch cameras installed at Pepperwood

Exciting news!

Yesterday, a crew led by University of Nevada Reno came up to install the first of two fire watch cameras at Pepperwood. The second camera is going in today. The Press Democrat and News of the North Bay both came out to do stories, and you can view the coverage below.

Funded by Sonoma Water, the two Pepperwood cameras are part of a larger ALERT – North Bay network that will help detect fires and provide CAL FIRE and other first responders panoramic views to aid in the deployment of resources. Once they go online, you’ll be able to view the live video stream from the Pepperwood cameras at the ALERT – North Bay website. Some other cameras in the network are already live.

We’re excited about the capacity these cameras will add to Pepperwood’s Sentinel Site and its ability to provide critical early warning data to our partners.
