We’re thrilled to announce that Pepperwood’s President & CEO, Dr. Lisa Micheli, is being recognized with the 2018 Bay Nature Local Hero award for Environmental Education!

Each year, Bay Nature Institute selects three individuals in our community whose efforts foster understanding and preservation of the natural world of the San Francisco Bay Area. Lisa has been selected as the 2018 Local Hero for Environmental Education for connecting people to nature in this time of rapid environmental change.

“She’s created a globally recognized model of science education and research by transforming Pepperwood and its 3,200 acre preserve in the Mayacamas Mountains into a “living laboratory” of climate study and a center of community education and stewardship,” says the Bay Nature webpage about Lisa’s award.
