Pepperwood fire update – October 16, 2017

We are so grateful to everyone who has reached out to Pepperwood with concerns around the fire. And we are so proud to be part of such an amazing community that has done a tremendous job supporting those in need over the past week.

Our President & CEO, Dr. Lisa Micheli, wrote a letter detailing what we know so far about the impacts of the fire at Pepperwood. You can read it here.

We also put together an accompanying blog post with some additional information. Click here to read it on our blog.

We will do our best to keep you updated as we learn more. Thank you so much for your support!

  1. Amber Kerr says:

So sorry to hear about the destruction and danger that the Preserve staff faced during this horrific event. I am relieved to hear that the Dwight Center survived the blaze, and I am sure that Pepperwood’s research and education programs will rise from the ashes and make major contributions to our knowledge about post-fire recovery processes in this ecosystem. My heart goes out to everyone who is trying to get back on their feet after this disaster.
