Spring is here, flowers are blooming and bees are buzzing. Pepperwood could hardly look more picturesque! With all of the rain this winter, everything is growing like crazy—and not just our natives, but some unwelcome plants too. We need your help with some important ecological restoration work. Lend a hand while you enjoy the beauty of the season and great camaraderie with other nature lovers.
Next Volunteer Workday
Saturday, April 1, 2017, 9am – 12pm
This Saturday is April Fool’s Day, but our work is no joke! We need your help removing invasive species before they go to seed. Please help us maintain happy, diverse habitat for plants and animals as we remove some of Pepperwood’s noxious invaders. Invasive Radish and Mustard have already started to flower, so they will be our main targets. Come lend a hand, enjoy the outdoors, and help us ensure the joke is on our invasive plants this Saturday. A delicious lunch is provided!
RSVP required to Sloane Shinn, sshinn@pepperwoodpreserve.org or 707-591-9310 ext 207.
Land Stewardship Workdays
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
We are also looking for volunteers to help out at our weekday Land Stewardship Workdays. These are held every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this spring and often take place in the more remote, less traveled areas of Pepperwood.
Please contact our new Preserve Assistant, Devyn Friedfel, at dfriedfel@pepperwoodpreserve.org to learn more.
