Pepperwood at Inter-Tribal Climate Adaptation Summit

Pepperwood’s President & CEO Dr. Lisa Micheli is presenting at the Inter-Tribal Climate Adaptation Leadership Summit on Thursday, November 10th at the UC Hopland Research and Extension Center in Hopland, CA. Along with Lauren Casey of the Sonoma County Regional Climate Protection Authority, Lisa will be sharing our joint Climate Ready North Bay platform that empowers our community to confront the natural resource challenges presented by climate change.

Climate Ready looks at critical factors impacting local resources—including water supply, forest health, and wildfire risks—and shows how they are projected to shift over the coming decades, with site-specific assessments developed for the individual needs of resource management agencies in Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties. It is bridging the gap between researchers who produce applied climate science and the managers who need it, including Sonoma County Water Agency and Sonoma County Regional Parks.

The Inter-Tribal Summit will build the capacity of Tribal leaders in Sonoma, Lake, and Mendocino counties to incorporate climate adaptation into their planning and resource management.
