$20, benefits Hedgebrook

On July 21, 2016, Hedgebrook Retreat for Women Writers is coming to Pepperwood for an evening featuring women writers on the environment. The event includes an environmentally themed reading and panel discussion, moderated by Pepperwood’s President Dr. Lisa Micheli.

In partnership with sustainable, women-owned wineries and Copperfields Books, the evening will focus on how storytelling influences our relationship with the natural world.

Poets and writers Farnaz Fatemi (“The Color of the Bricks”), Mary Ellen Hannibal (The Spine of the Continent), Lillian Howan (The Charm Buyer), and Rebecca Lawton (Steelies and Other Endangered Species) will read short passages from their work. A panel discussion and a question-and-answer session will follow.

Come join the conversation on some of the biggest issues of our day—climate, water, and biodiversity. Information about upcoming programs at both Hedgebrook and Pepperwood will be available on site.
